Trip Itinerary

  • Day 1-3: Arrival & Preparation in Kathmandu (1,400m)
    Day 1: Arrival, briefing, gear check.
    Day 2: Permit arrangements, final preparations.
    Day 3: Fly to Tumlingtar (460m) & drive to Chichira (1,830m).
  • Day 4-9: Day 4-9: Trek to Pumari Base Camp (4,800m)
    Day 4: Trek to Num (1,560m) via beautiful terraced fields.
    Day 5: Trek to Seduwa (1,500m) – entry into Makalu Barun National Park.
    Day 6: Trek to Tashi Gaon (2,070m) – last permanent village.
    Day 7: Trek to Kauma (3,470m) – steep ascent.
    Day 8: Acclimatization at Kauma (short hike).
    Day 9: Trek to Mumbuk (3,570m) & then to Pumari Base Camp (4,800m).
  • Day 10-24: : Climbing Period (Summit Push)
    Day 10-12: Acclimatization & Training (ice climbing, rope techniques).
    Day 13-15: Load Ferry to Camp 1 (5,600m) and return.
    Day 16-18: Establish Camp 2 (6,200m) on the Southeast Ridge.
    Day 19-22: Summit Push (7,161m) – usually starts at midnight.
    Day 23-24: Descend to Base Camp, pack up.
  • Day 25-28:: Return to Kathmandu
    Day 25: Trek back to Mumbuk.
    Day 26: Trek to Seduwa.
    Day 26: Trek to Seduwa.
    Day 27: Drive to Tumlingtar, fly to Kathmandu.
    Day 28: Departure or extra day in Kathmandu.
