Makalu Base Camp Trek Overview

The Makalu Base Camp (MBC) Trek is a remote and challenging trek in eastern Nepal, offering stunning views of Mt. Makalu (8,485m), the fifth-highest mountain in the world. This trek takes you through the Makalu Barun National Park, a biodiversity hotspot with rich flora and fauna, including rare species like the red panda and snow leopard.

Unlike the more popular Everest and Annapurna treks, the Makalu Base Camp route is less crowded, providing a true wilderness experience. The trail passes through lush forests, high alpine meadows, and rugged Himalayan landscapes, culminating at Makalu Base Camp (5,000m).
