The Everest Mani Rimdu Festival is a vibrant Buddhist celebration held annually at Tengboche Monastery in Nepal’s Everest region. This sacred event, usually taking place in October or November, marks the triumph of good over evil through masked dances (Cham), prayers, and rituals performed by monks. Pilgrims and trekkers gather to witness the colorful ceremonies, including the blessing of sacred pills (Tsewang) and a dramatic fire ritual (Jinsak). The festival, deeply rooted in Sherpa culture, offers a rare glimpse into Himalayan Buddhism against the breathtaking backdrop of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other snow-capped peaks.
