Trip Itinerary

  • Day 01:: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
    Arrive at Paro International Airport (Bhutan’s only international airport). Drive to Thimphu (1.5 hours) through picturesque valleys. Visit Tashichho Dzong (Thimphu’s fortress-monastery & government seat). Buddha Dordenma (51m tall golden Buddha statue). Evening stroll in Thimphu Market. Overnight in Thimphu.
  • Day: 02: Thimphu Sightseeing
    Visit: National Memorial Chorten (a revered stupa). Folk Heritage Museum (traditional Bhutanese lifestyle). Changangkha Lhakhang (ancient temple). Simply Bhutan Museum (interactive cultural experience). Optional: Visit a handicraft center for traditional textiles. Overnight in Thimphu.
  • Day 3: : Thimphu to Punakha (Scenic Drive via Dochula Pass)
    Drive to Punakha (3 hours) via Dochula Pass (3,100m) with 108 stupas. Visit: Dochula Druk Wangyal Temple (panoramic Himalayan views). Punakha Dzong (Bhutan’s most beautiful fortress at river confluence). Chimi Lhakhang (fertility temple dedicated to the "Divine Madman"). Overnight in Punakha.
  • Day 04: Punakha – Gangtey Valley (Phobjikha)
    Drive to Gangtey Valley (4 hours), a glacial valley and winter home to black-necked cranes. Visit: Gangtey Monastery (16th-century Nyingma school temple). Crane Information Center (learn about endangered cranes). Enjoy a nature walk in Phobjikha Valley. Overnight in Gangtey.
  • Day 5: : Gangtey – Paro
    Drive back to Paro (6 hours) with scenic stops. Visit: Kyichu Lhakhang (one of Bhutan’s oldest temples). Rinpung Dzong (fortress-monastery featured in "Little Buddha"). Evening at leisure in Paro. Overnight in Paro.
  • Day 06:: Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
    Morning hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) (2-3 hours uphill). Legend says Guru Rinpoche flew here on a tigress. Visit Drukgyel Dzong (ruined fortress with Mount Jomolhari views). Optional: Relax in a traditional hot stone bath. Overnight in Paro.
  • Day 07: Departure from Paro
    Transfer to Paro Airport for departure.
