Jungle Safari in Nepal

Jungle safaris have a long history in Nepal. They first started as hunting trips for the Royal Family and big game hunters from around the world. Today the hunting is more commonly done with a camera.
In Nepal's protected National Parks you can observe the wildlife on foot, from the back of a jeep or even atop an elephant! Some of the animals you may come across include endangered one horned rhinos, deer, birds, monkeys and, if you are very lucky, a royal Bengal tiger. What's more, a number of our rafting trips pass through the region in Nepal known as the Terai - home to the National Parks. We recommend a jungle safari as the perfect way to relax, unwind and experience the wildlife of Nepal. We offer three to five day safari packages, with a choice of different standards of jungle lodges and tented camps. We arrange everything for you, from accommodation, National Park entrance permit, elephant back safari, nature walk, jungle drive, canoeing and even a traditional Tharu stick dance!
We can arrange safaris in Royal Chitwan National Park, Bardia National Park and Royal Suklaphat Wildlife Reserve, Parsa wildlife reserve. A trip to one of Nepal's protected National Parks or Wildlife Reserves is a unique opportunity for students to experience some of Nepal's native flora and fauna. We can arrange safaris by jeep or elephant, both a great but safe way of viewing wildlife such as the one horned rhino, deer, monkeys, sloth bears and, if you are very lucky a royal Bengal tiger!
There are also opportunities to visit the elephant-breeding center, see traditional Tharu dancing and visit a typical Tharu village.

Jungle safaris can be easily combined with one of our rafting trips for a more rounded experience.

Chitawan Natinal Park:

one horn Rhino sipping mother's milkThis park is the most popular destination for tourist wanting to have a good experience of the regions wildlife. It was declared a national park in 1973. In 1984, UNESCO designated it as Natural World Heritage Site. The park offers protection to 56 species of mammals including the one horned rhinoceros, Bengal Tiger, leopard, sloth bear, wild elephant, striped hyena, Gangetic dolphin and wild bison. There are an estimated species of birds, 126 species of fish, 590 species of butterflies and 47 species of reptiles in the park. A recent study also points out the over a third of Nepal's total population is in Chitwan.

Bardia National Park

Royal Bardia National Park is Smaller then Chitawan National Park but house the same exotic Animals and jungle environment of the Tarai. To reach the Royal Bardia national park, there are daily flights as well as Public buses from Kathamndu to Nepalganj. The park office situated 20 Km southwest allong the Highway. There is numerous of lodges and hotel resorts so there is no real problem for accommodation however there is more tourist in season time so better to have an advance booking before you departure. Bardia is more isolated then Chitawan that is the reason it has fewer resorts and fewer visitors. But this also adds to the excitement of exploring this jungle. All resorts are at the border of the national park and numerous jungle activities are possible. There are wide verities of jungle activities available in both parks. Elephant riders are the best way to explore the jungle and search for wildlife. Jeep safaris are also available for those who don't feel like riding atop an elephant others might enjoy a jungle walk with an experienced guide who can tell you all about the wildlife and vegetation that is unique to the Terai region.
